The Romanian Post entered the real estate market and announces that it has commercial spaces, apartments, offices and land for rent/ “We ran into this stereotype that the Romanian Post rents at low or dumping prices. We are a trading company.”

The director of the Romanian Post, Valentin Ştefan, announced, on Wednesday, the launch of the company’s real estate portal and specified that of the 1,000 properties in the free circuit, half are to be capitalized through this site. He also announced that the income from real estate rentals and capitalization is increasing by 70%, reports News.ro.

Valentin Ştefan organized, on Wednesday, an online press conference, on the occasion of the launch of the company’s real estate portal. It is available to those interested an extensive selection of commercial premises, apartments, offices and company-owned land available for rent.

“In the Romanian National Post Company, this part of the real estate infrastructure was not capitalized on its true potential. In the company we have somewhere around 2,000 properties of different values, buildings, land, buildings and land or of another nature, of which about 1,000 are used by the company and 1,000 we have in the free circuit. Of these 1,000 that are unused, we try to capitalize half of them through this site. We established a specialized structure in March of last year. We formally established it in January, but it became operational in March of last year and this year we managed to increase by approximately 70% the income from real estate rentals and capitalization”explained Valentin Ştefan.

The manager of the real estate business unit within the Romanian Post, Claudiu Ilie, declared during the press conference that through this website the company tries to reach potential customers more easily.

“The real estate business at the Romanian Post had an impact, so to speak, if we think about the large number of properties that the Romanian Post has in its portfolio, and money is limited, as in any company, you cannot reach with investments over all. We tried to find another plan for these spaces, namely by renting them, the Romanian Post also gains a modernization in those spaces and remains in their heritage with the investments in the spaces to use them in the circuit or where they have the desired directions. More than that, we, through the real estate platform, tried to get in front of the public and our clients and potential clients to be much more visible, more accessible”, said Claudiu Ilie.

Valentin Ştefan also stated that a problem they faced was related to the fact that those interested in the premises of the Romanian Post hoped that the price would be low.

“You know that the biggest problem was when we ran into this stereotype that when a customer or a person interested in the Post Office premises comes to the company then it must be a bargain. And the potential tenants were very surprised that we were negotiating, obviously, not only the market price, but if there was interest, it would even increase significantly above the market price. And we ran into this stereotype that the Romanian Post rents at low or dumping prices. And we are trying to change this perception, so that the world and possible customers understand that we are a commercial company, we have to follow the profit and that saying: brother, brother, but cheese is for money”also stated the director of the Pošta Română company.
