Mihai Enache, the candidate of the AUR party for the General City Hall, asked Gabriela Firea, the counter-candidate from the Social Democrats, to withdraw from the PSD-PNL list for the June 9 European Parliament elections.
“I have a message for Ms. Firea, and I believe that it is in agreement with all Bucharest residents, including those who support her. I ask Gabriela Firea to show a minimum of decency and respect towards the citizens whose vote she is asking and to immediately withdraw her candidacy for the post of MEP”wrote Mihai Enache on his Facebook account.
The AUR candidate pointed out that although Gabriela Firea is “one of the names thrown on the market by the PSD as a candidate for the General City Hall”she is also on the list of joint PSD-PNL candidates for the European Parliament elections.

Mayor or MEP?
“From reporter to moderator and TV presenter, from ‘than politician, better housewife’ to spokesperson, today Gabriela Firea cannot decide if she wants to be mayor of Bucharest or member of the European Parliament.
Because at this moment he is one of the names thrown on the market by the PSD as a candidate for the General City Hall, but he is still on the list of candidates for the European Parliament elections, it is natural for him to choose and give up one of them, or both, if he would had the decency to leave the stage after the revelations about the ‘horror asylums'”reads a press statement from Enache.
Mihai Enache stated that Firea should take an example from him, who gave up running for the European Parliament elections to devote himself to the campaign for the Capital City Hall.
The candidacy of Gabriela Firea for the General City Hall will be validated next week, announced the leader of the social democrats, Marcel Ciolacu, saying: “I think it’s a simple procedure, next week, we’ll do it online, until the application is submitted”.
