Andrei Muraru, Romania’s ambassador to the US, announced that “in Moscow, the weather starts to deteriorate from today”, after the US Senate voted on the aid package worth almost 61 billion dollars for Ukraine.
“The $95 billion international aid package that includes Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan was also voted on by the Senate tonight (after the House of Representatives on Saturday)! Notably, the vote was overwhelmingly favorable – from both parties. Of those 100 members of the Senate, 79 senators voted for the international assistance package (out of 51 votes needed), while 18 voted against it (15 Republicans and 3 Democrats).
Now, the law goes to President Joe Biden, who has promised to sign it into law as early as Wednesday. It’s obviously a big win for Ukraine supporters (most of the support package, almost 61 billion goes to support for Kiev) from both parties.
