AUR is falling apart like UNPR. What is wrong with George Simion

--

The Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) will follow in the footsteps of the UNPR. The party president, George Simion, makes some mistakes that disappoint the party members.

AUR practices political trasesism

Many politicians decided to leave the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) because they were not rewarded for their work in the last 4 years, writes psnews.ro.

It is about those politicians from AUR who do not agree with the political path.

Even if George Simion says that his party is anti-system, it does not promote a new generation of politicians. For example, the list for the European Parliament elections is opened by the so-called political trailblazers.

Among them are Cristian Terheș, Mugur Mihăiescu, Ramona Ioana Bruynseel and Avram Fitiu.

George Simion proposes political routes for local elections as well

In addition, in the local elections, George Simion advances several names of people who are guilty of political trasesism

Tudor Ciuhodaru, member of the European Parliament, will be the proposal of the AUR party for the position of mayor of Iași.

This was through several parties, such as: PC, PPDD, UNPR, PSD and now also in AUR.

So, in the last 15 years he changed 5 parties.

Călin Mătieș also joined AUR after leaving PSD and will be the party’s candidate for mayor of Alba Iulia in the 2024 elections.

Mohammad Murad, former member of ALDE and the Romanian Environmentalist Party, was appointed the AUR candidate for the post of president of the Constanța County Council.

The party led by George Simion presents Ovidiu Cupșa as its candidate for the position of mayor of Constanța, he being a former member of PNL for 30 years.

AUR members are not happy with the current situation

AUR members are not in a happy position because of the political shenanigans. They are now sidelined because George Simion wants to run with these new politicians.

For example, George Simion nominated Marius Apopei for the candidate for Piatra Neamț City Hall. Later, Marius Apopei was PNL county councilor. Now, he holds the position of president of AUR Piatra Neamț.

The branch of AUR Piatra Neamț says that it does not support him.

“The AUR Piatra Neamț organization does not support him and does not wish to be associated with Mr. Marius Apopei in any way. We cannot support a man who was imposed on us from Bucharest, a man who did nothing for this organization”, explained Loredan Popa, coordinator of AUR Piatra Neamț.

AUR has internal problems

Numerous branches of the party have seen the departure of important members and are facing differences of opinion with the central leadership.

Dumitru Coarnă, deputy within the party, declared that he is resigning from the formation, together with the entire branch in Călărași.

Horn criticized Simion for his lack of desire to establish county organizations.

Ovidiu Szime, the former leader of the AUR organization from Timișoara, also left the party, stating that the fundamental principles and status of the formation are not respected.

AUR follows in the footsteps of UNPR

The party follows the same path as the UNPR, Gabriel Oprea’s previous formation. UNPR had filled its ranks with lower-ranking politicians and trasists, mainly from PSD, in order to obtain mandates in Parliament.

Gabriel Oprea failed to understand that the chances of the elections are minimal when he fills his ranks with politicians who fail to win the trust of the public.
