A driver under the influence of alcoholic beverages caused a traffic accident resulting in only property damage after ignoring a stop sign.

“On April 1 this year, at around 11:10 p.m., the police officers from the Săbăoani Rural Police Department were alerted to the fact that, at the intersection of DN2-E85 with DJ 207 B, in the town of Săbăoani, a road event resulting only in material damage, and one of the drivers is under the influence of alcoholic beverages.

Following the checks carried out by the police, it was found that, while a 33-year-old man, from Iași county, was driving a car on DJ 207B, from Mircești to Săbăoani, when he reached the intersection with DN2-E85, he would not have respected the meaning of the STOP indicator, not giving priority to a van, driven by a 52-year-old man, from Bucharest, who was driving normally on DN2-E85 from Roman to Suceava.” – the Neamt Police reported

The testing of the driver from Iași county with the alcohol test device revealed a value of 0.61 mg/l of pure alcohol in the exhaled air, which led to the preparation of a criminal file under the aspect of committing the crime of driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
