A terrible accident occurred in the village of Arsa in Constanța county, located a few kilometers from Mangalia. A driver under the influence of alcohol lost control of the wheel, hitting two children and causing significant damage in the area.

The drunk driver who lost control of the wheel hit two children with his car. The car then hit a bridge head, ricocheted into two parked cars and came to rest against a fence.

The accident took place on Monday in the village of Arsa in Constanța county.

What the Police say

According to IPJ Constanța, police officers from the Mangalia Municipal Police – Road Safety Bureau were alerted to the fact that, on Mihai Eminescu Street in the village of Arsa, a road accident occurred.

The police officers dispatched to the scene found that a 64-year-old man allegedly drove a car, lost control of the steering and injured two children, aged three and nine. Later, the car hit a bridgehead, two parked vehicles and the fence of a building.

As a result of the road accident, the driver and the two children were injured.

“The driver was tested with the breathalyzer device, the result being 0.84 mg/l of pure alcohol in the exhaled air. He was also tested with the device provided, in order to establish indications regarding the possible presence of psychoactive substances, the result being negative .

Later, he was taken to a medical unit, for the taking of biological samples, in order to establish the blood alcohol level”, explained IPJ Constanța.

In the case, a criminal investigation file was drawn up for committing the crimes of culpable bodily harm and driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or other substances.
