The Romanian actor who could not live without love. Born on March 6, 1920 in Prăjești, Bacău county, the actor was a free spirit from his youth. Although his father dreamed of seeing him as a teacher or priest, Ernest was more attracted to the world of theater and poetry. From a young age, he shared his artistic talents by publishing poems in local magazines.
In the interwar period, he joined the legionary movement, and during the fascist regime of Ion Antonescu, he was involved in political activities. At only 21 years old, he had the courage to put his life in danger to save 136 Jews suspected of communist activities, hiding them in his hometown of Prăjești.
