“My name is Cocu Iulia Florentina. I come from Galați and I am 11 years old. And I do the dancing. I started belly dancing when I was very, very young. I was listening to a lot of oriental music. I used to dance around the house a lot and at the age of six I managed to enroll in a belly dance class”, said the girl at Romanians have talent.

Even if some people disregard this style of dance, Iulia doesn’t prove them right. For her, it’s a way of living and energizing herself. What helps her a lot is the fact that she has full family support.

“Many people think that it is a dance that is danced more on the hands. No, it’s a very beautiful dance. And I think it’s a dance that gives me a very good energy. It relaxes me, in a way.

My parents think very well of my dancing. They also find it a very beautiful dance. Even my grandparents agreed with belly dancing, because they think it’s a very good dance and suitable for me”revealed Iulia.

“I think that when the jurors see me, they will have a very good opinion. And I really think he’s going to have fun.” said the girl confidently before going on stage at the Romanians have talent. His performance, however, did not have the intended effect.

The jurors recognized Iulia’s talent, but they ran into the age barrier. Andra confided to him that she enjoyed his dance, but that it was more suitable for someone older than 11, as it was meant to “stir something up”.

“I really liked your dance. I liked your costume. I had a really hard time associating dancing, on the other hand, with your age. Because, to me, this kind of dance has to evoke some sensuality.
