Alert: Piranha specimen discovered in a river in Romania; the fish normally lives in South America – News on sources

--

A red-bellied piranha, an aggressive and extremely voracious fish species, originally from South America, was found in the water of Crişului Repede, in the area of the Centenary Bridge in the center of Oradea. The head of the Bihor Environmental Guard confirmed the discovery and alerted other institutions to launch an investigation that would lead to the identification of the irresponsible person who threw the fish into the Criş, but also to the clarification of the hypothesis regarding the possible existence of Piranha in the much warmer water, of Peța, where it could “exterminate” the specific fauna of the stream, informs Bihoreanul, reports News.ro.
