OPPO Reno11 F 5G it’s a phone running Android 14 with the ColorOS 14 interface applied over it. The truth is that many differences compared to the previous version of the interface do not appear, we are dealing with a clean UI, extremely easy to customize. The phone also comes with some pre-installed third-party applications such as Netflix, TikTok, Linkedin, WPS Office, as well as some games. Fortunately, they are very easy to uninstall if that’s what you want.
There is also a useful sidebar available on the side. It provides shortcuts to applications that can be opened in “floating window” mode. In the customization area we can go to icons, accents, toggles, fonts, animations and others.
The front phone is ringing Always On Display, with different portrait silhouettes, Omoji, clocks and useful information to display (time, date, battery, notifications). We can also set the edges of the screen to light up when we receive notifications and it’s face down. We also have virtual RAM added from the settings, as well as navigation through swipe gestures.
The fingerprint reader is integrated into the screen, responsive and fast. I came to appreciate the simplicity of ColorOS and even the shades used and I mean Quick Settings for example with a combination of gray and green. The settings themselves are a bit more colorful than the iconography, but they maintain the simplicity of the icons. We also have a search system on the whole phone, between applications, news, emails and on the web, as well as a news feed on the homescreen on the left.
The Recents area, the multitasking area looks like any other Android phone, I didn’t notice any big changes here. There is also a Special area in Settings, where Smart Sidebar and Flexible Windows are located, all designed for multitasking. There are also Quick Return, Quick Launch, Kid Space and Simple Mode. Quick Launch is that function that allows you to put icons at hand next to the one of the fingerprint reader and with a finger lift to enter them immediately after authentication.
There are also Air Gestures that involve waving your hand in front of the selfie camera. You can scroll through websites and apps, even answer calls or pause a video this way. There are also pre-installed applications such as Games for gamers, Phone Manager with tools for the good functioning of the terminal.
From there you clear storage, scan for viruses, grant permissions to apps.
