Moto Buds+ review: big positive surprise

--

Motorola decided to attack the underarm part of TWS headphones up to PLN 600. I asked Bose for help and it was a very good idea.

It looks like Apple AirPods Pro, but more comfortable

It happened that I switched to Moto Buds+ directly from Apple AirPods Pro gen.2 and the first thing I felt were two things: Motorola headphones fit better in the earEven with ANC off, it’s incomparably more effective at isolating us from the noise of the world. Well, I thought you had my attention. Then came the first song and spoke Balanced sound from Bose, with surprisingly refined bass. Wait, these headphones just under 600 PLN?

The design of the headphones is very simple and modest. Motorola doesn’t scream cheap trim, and there’s no room for fingerprints or scratches to accumulate. The texture of the case and headphones is a bit rough and matte, so they will last for years, not months..

Power supply and operating time

There are no strange things here – charging is done via cable USB C The case allows less than 3 full charging cycles for the headphones from zero to full charge. The headphones work with ANC on About 6 hoursWithout it I’m closer to 8. This is a very good result.

At first I thought there was no wireless charging here (headphones stubbornly dislike MagSafe). After switching the original Apple charger to Anker with Qi, suddenly everything worked, and another item was removed from the list of cons.

Moto Buds+ sound is fun

Motorola’s ambition, like Bose’s, was to offer no analytical delights at all. We are heading towards the V-ka consumer and… We are surprised by a flexible, fast and at the same time very powerful bass sound. But what matters is probably not the absolute control of the music with the bass, but rather the addition of energy through the movement of the hips. All this without any consequence in the medium and triple term.

Vocals were well presented and despite the bass crowding, they were accomplished The scene is very spacious and crams an amazing amount of detail into the blurry Motki. Or at least as much as possible with a slightly smoky signature aimed at pop fans. It’s only at volume levels above 80% that the tuning starts to fall apart here and there when listening to music with a big kick (like The Prodigy, Daft Punk or Linkin Park), but that’s not a surprising thing in the music world.

What pleases me is that I did not encounter any anomalies while watching movies – the combination of actors’ voices and film music is not a problem, and the strong bass exposure further enhances the experience. It’s also a good idea to listen to podcasts.

Lots of extras

Headphone Management App Rules Minimalism. This is probably the most zoomed interface of any app I’ve ever used – everything is big, there’s no strain on the eyes, and there’s no risk of incorrectly selecting a function while working (exactly the opposite of Sony’s app). Unfortunately, in the Google Store, as well as in the App Store, the application does not yet offer all the functions that the manufacturer promised during testing. Searched in vain for codec quality or feature control Dolby Atmos, which was implemented in headphones. Moreover, the Samsung Galaxy S24 did not even detect the availability of the HD codec. But that’s the beauty of testing pre-release gear.

It is worth noting that it is effective, although perhaps atypical Ambient noise cancellation of up to 42 dB. There is also a transparency mode, and hidden headphones in the house can be found by triggering the alarm from them.

summary

Driven by the bold design of TWS earbuds and the fact that earbuds often look more than they play, I wasn’t expecting much from the humble Moto Buds+. while The equipment surprises at every step and after a few moments it turns out to be one of the most interesting offers in its price category.

Instead of garbage, we have it here Durable, matte elegance. He puts on his headphones for the first time and there is complete chemistry – These are some of the most comfortable GRPs I’ve ever had the pleasure of testing. However, the collaboration with Bose and decent transducers (11mm woofer and 6mm tweeter) resulted in not only a great bass but also a decent treble exposure. The sound is pleasant, but can surprise with its details and great musical theater.

Let’s add fast charging (10 minutes for up to 3 hours of listening), long playback time and the inductive charging module and it gets even more interesting. There is also support for HD codecs and even Dolby Atmos with Dolby Head Tracking. In short, the Moto Buds+ are much more premium headphones than they might seem. My final rating is 9/10
