WhatsApp users usually use the camera icon to send videos or images. An interesting innovation is hidden behind the button. There is now a major update for WhatsApp in the iTunes App Store.

WhatsApp is now announcing a major update that will bring new features and possibilities for users. Current version number 24.6.77 allows Messenger users to record and send video messages directly in chats. This is easily done by long-pressing the camera symbol next to the input field in the chat, as WABetaInfo writes. Another innovation is the introduction of the function of fast forward: Users can now fast-forward or rewind by double-tapping the edge of a video.

The update also brings a visual refresh to the attachment area in the chat and improves app performance with regular fixes and improvements. An iPhone with iOS 12.0 or later is required to install the update. Users can update the app directly in the App Store.
