Xiaomi plans to breathe new life into the foldable smartphone market with its Mi Flip model, which folds vertically. New details about this device have emerged.
Generous External Screen Design
According to the leaked schematics, the device known by the code name “Ruyi” will have a very generous external screen. Lately, we’ve noticed a trend towards larger external screens on vertically foldable smartphones to provide a better user experience. The same thing happened with the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6.
Powerful Processor and Generous Battery
According to previous leaks, the Xiaomi Mi Flip will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and will have a 4800mAh/4900mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging.
Details about the Rooms
New leaks have also revealed details about the cameras. The main camera will use a 50MP sensor called the Light Hunter 800, based on the OmniVision OV50. For the telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom, a 60MP OmniVision OV60 sensor will be used. The front camera will be equipped with the OmniVision OV32B sensor.
Xiaomi seems to have opted for sensors provided by non-Western manufacturers for this model. Xiaomi Mi Flip is expected to be launched in the market in May 2024 at the earliest.
