Many users of Windows 11 they wanted Microsoft to tweak the Start menu a bit to make apps easier to view. Well, exactly this seems to have been achieved with the latest Beta version of the operating system. Below we see what the new Start menu implemented by Microsoft developers looks like.

On https://twitter.com/PhantomOfEarth/status/1774091417377255752 tipster PhantomOcean3 discovered the news. When we click on “All Apps / All Applications” they will be displayed in the form of a grid, instead of the list that allowed us to see much fewer elements. The change appears in Windows 11 build 22635.2420, but until Microsoft makes the feature official there is an app called ViVeTool through which the option can be tried.

If you happen to be running build 22635.3420, here are some steps to enable the option:

  • Download ViveTool from GitHub and unzip it into an easy-to-find folder;
  • Open Command Prompt as Administrator and open the relevant folder using the CD command
  • Type vivetool /enable /id:48433541,48433706,48433719,48468527,48468541 and then press Enter
  • Type vivetool /enable /id:47205210 /variant:2 and press Enter
  • Restart your PC

It’s worth mentioning that we don’t recommend this option activation method as it doesn’t seem quite ready for the public. If we click on one of the applications in the menu we will see the option “Settings / Settings”, so we will no longer be able to easily uninstall programs using the context menu. In addition, there are no folders, just a huge grid of applications installed on the PC.

The good news is that Microsoft has thought of offering another way to view installed applications. It’s definitely a useful feature that will arrive in the future in a stable build.
