FCSB won the title of Romanian football champion, on Saturday evening, after defeating Farul Constanța with a score of 2-1 (1-0), at the National Arena in the Capital, in the seventh stage of the play-off phase of the Superliga.
FCSB prevailed with the goals scored by David Miculescu (26) and Alexandru Băluţă (84), while Rivaldinho (79) scored for the former champion.
FCSB had two more great opportunities to score, both through Darius Olaru (77, 90+3 – bar), both in one-on-one situations with the goalkeeper.
FCSB had not won the title since 2015, since then having seven second place finishes and one fifth place finish.
The “Red-Blues” needed only one more point to secure the title, with three stages before the end of the season, but they obtained the victory.
At the end, the manager of FCSB, Mihai Stoica, announced who will be FCSB’s first opponent in the new season, in preparation for the Champions League preliminaries.
“On June 14 we start training, on June 16 we leave for the training camp in Holland. We already have a game against Go Ahead Eagles, a good team. We could have another game with Alkmaar, but they wanted on the 22nd, we play the first match on the 24th or 25th. From this point of view, we organized ourselves”, declared Stoica.
