The President of the Romanian Tennis Federation warned Gabriela Ruse and told her that this decision would lead to her missing the Olympic Games, stating that participation in the Olympic Games is directly conditional on membership in the Fed Cup team. Cosac said that he will personally get involved in this case to try to convince Gabriela Ruse not to withdraw from the team, in case the tennis player maintains the original decision.

“She’s a young player who has her whole future ahead of her. I don’t think it’s a solution for her to drop out of the Fed Cup team, even though maybe at one point she was upset that she didn’t play. But you’re part of a team and you may not be able to play every time. A possible cut from her Fed Cup team will also result in her not participating in the Olympics. To participate in the Olympics, you must be part of your country’s Fed Cup team.

It is a very clear condition. She may no longer have the opportunity to prepare even on the basis of the tennis federation. But I hope it doesn’t come to this.
