Will Still (30 years old), his coach Rheims and known as “Pintilis de France” in the Romaniahe replied to his challengers.

Will Still: “Obviously degrees are important”

Accused of coaching without a Pro License, Will Still informs the challengers that he was not going to get all his degrees until now, as the process is a long one.

It is a myth that must be destroyed because we have degrees, whether it is Didier Digard (no coach of OGC Nice) or me. We have the most important degrees possible or that could be taken so far.

I repeat, at 30 years old, having the Pro License is very complicated. I couldn’t have done it before because I’m just the age I am. Obviously degrees are important and I’m not just a nerd who played Football Manager, it’s totally fake”, said Will Still, during a conference.

Will Still does not have a license and thus the French pay a fine of 25,000 euros per match so that the Englishman of Belgian origin can sit on the bench.

Reims, with Will Still on the bench, are currently on a 17-game unbeaten run and sit eighth in Ligue 1 with 43 points.

Will Still, Ligue 1’s breakthrough coach

The Belgian’s career began with a video game in which he virtually prepared the best teams in the world. Then he was runner-up in Preston’s U18 team, aged just 18, and followed his dream to Belgium. At 28, he became the head coach of Beerschotin the first Belgian league, where he lasted 15 matches.

The 2022/2023 season started as second coach at Reims, and in October he was “promoted” to the position of head coach and since then his team has not lost.

At the moment, Will Still is enrolled in the Pro License course, and for every match he sits on the bench for Reims, the club is fined €25,000 by the French Federation. But unlike what happens in League 1, the coach is not prohibited from giving directions, giving statements and is not threatened with suspension.

Considering the results recorded by Reims under the command of the Belgian, the club happily accepts the situation: “We are ready to invest in your career as long as you keep winning”, said the representatives of Reims, according to GiveMeSport.
