Strange, but also funny incident in a match in Israel. A referee disallowed a goal after looking at a spectator’s phone.

The referee disallowed a goal after looking at a spectator’s phone

It happened at the match Suez SC – Al-Nassr, from the second league of Israel. Center Mohamed Farouk went to the bench and took the phone of a spectator, who had filmed the moment when the visitors equalized at 2.

However, the hosts protested vehemently and accused a henchman. Considering that there is no VAR in Israel’s second league, the referee decided to comply with a request from the fans, who were insisting that he come and review the phase.

Referee Mohamed Farouk was able to leave the stadium under police escort

The referee actually stayed for some time to see the images very well, and during this time, several people made a kind of human chain and created a “shield” around the referee, so that the players and spectators could not interfere.

After seeing the phase, referee Mohamed Farouk disallowed the goal. The match ended after 15 minutes of extra time and Suez won 3-1. After that moment, the referee could only leave the stadium under police escort, and Al-Nassr protested and said they would sue him.
