The category of Romanians who will receive aid of 1,500 euros from the state. Necessary conditions to collect the money

The Government approved the Emergency Ordinance on the establishment of a state aid scheme for tomato and garlic growers in protected areas.

The grant compensates for the losses suffered for crops established in December 2023 – the first quarter of 2024, in the context of the crisis caused by Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.

According to a note from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, all files submitted and to be submitted, until May 10, 2024, are eligible without being registered in the Integrated Management and Monitoring Information System (SIMM) platform”.

Who are the beneficiaries of the aid of 1,500 euros from the state

Beneficiaries of this type of aid can be natural person agricultural producers, authorized natural person agricultural producers, individual businesses and family businesses, legal person agricultural producers, agricultural societies, variety testing and research bodies/organizations, respectively universities, institutes and resorts agricultural research and development

Thus, those with eligible files can receive 1,500 euros from the state:

In this sense, the beneficiaries must meet the following conditions:

• to request the state aid provided for by this emergency ordinance;
• to establish a cumulative area of ​​at least 1,000 sq m, cultivated exclusively with tomatoes in protected areas;
• be registered in the records of the Agricultural Register open to the town halls in whose administrative-territorial radius the areas cultivated with tomatoes are located in the protected spaces, in the year 2024
• is not in difficulty, i.e. in liquidation or bankruptcy, on the date of submission of the request for state aid
• for natural persons: no final decision of the courts declaring bankruptcy has been issued

Attention, field checks are carried out by mixed teams of DAJs and APIA. Aims to travel in the field to check the established surfaces and maintain them. Also, areas planted with tomatoes interspersed with other crops are not eligible under the scheme.

The total value of the aid scheme is 166,206,250 lei, representing the equivalent of a maximum of 33,690,000 euros, so that, if the total amount of payment to be granted exceeds the total financial resources allocated, provided in the normative act, the amount due to each beneficiary will be reduced proportionally.

The submission of applications and supporting documents will be done by April 12, 2024, including, for tomato cultivation in protected areas, it is stated on the website of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development

The payment of the amounts representing the state aid will be made until June 30, 2024 inclusive.
