The Ukrainians attacked with drones factories in Tatarstan located more than 1,200 kilometers from the border, where kamikaze drones are made. Seven people were injured, the regional authorities of this republic within the Russian Federation announced, quoted by Reuters. Another attack targeted an oil refinery.

“An aerial drone attack was carried out this morning against Tatarstan factories located in Elabuga and Nijnekamsk,” the press service of Tatarstan leader Rustam Minnihanov said in a statement on the Telegram application, quoted by France Presse.

The attack “did not cause serious damage, the technological process of the enterprises was not disrupted”, assures the press release, without specifying which factories were targeted. “In Elabuga, unfortunately, they are injured,” the press service emphasized.

The Alabuga Special Economic Zone (SEZ), created in 2006 and having dozens of factories and companies, specializing mainly in the production of chemical products, mechanical engineering and metal processing, is located approximately ten kilometers from the city of Elabuga.

Two drones attacked a dormitory for workers in Alabuga on Tuesday at 2:45 GMT, injuring two people, the ZES press service said in a statement. Russian news agency TASS, citing emergency services, reported that a total of six people were injured.

An important oil refinery is located in Nijnekamsk.

Ukraine has intensified its attacks against Russia in recent weeks, targeting energy targets in particular, writes Agerpres. Kiev has warned it will bring the fighting to Russian soil in retaliation for numerous bombings on its territory.
