Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been fighting in court for almost eight years. The two stars separated in 2016 and since then have been suing each other for child custody or property rights.

A source consulted by the Daily Mail said that the “war” between Pitt and Jolie is almost over. The 60-year-old actor would have taken an important step in this regard: giving up the request to have joint custody of their six children.

Even now, almost eight years after the separation, Angelina and Brad are not officially divorced. According to the source of the British daily, the two stars are in negotiations and are approaching the finish line, which could be reached this summer.

While Brad Pitt previously wanted 50-50 in terms of child custody arrangements, now, he wouldn’t budge on that measure. That means his ex-wife will have physical custody of the minors, and he will have visitation rights. The decision was made because only Shiloh (17 years old) and the twins Know and Vivienne (15 years old), his only biological children, did not reach the age of majority. Shiloh will be 18 in May.

In addition, the older children, Maddox (22 years old), Pax (20 years old) and Zahara (19 years old), do not have a very good relationship with their adoptive father and, being adults, are no longer counted in the custody arrangements. Zahara began to introduce herself like Zahara Jolie, dropping her adoptive father’s last name. Both Maddox and Pax have dropped the Pitt name in informal contexts “for a few years now.”

A few months ago, a message posted on Pax’s private Instagram account also surfaced, in which, on Father’s Day 2020, the teenager launched a tirade of harsh words against the Hollywood star. Pax did not shy away from accusing him of destroying the family, of terrorizing him and his younger siblings and described him as “a world-class bastard”.
