Eighth grade students take the national simulation for the 2024 National Assessment on Monday morning. The first test, according to the official calendar, is in the Romanian language.
This year’s novelty consists in the fact that this time the corner of the work is not closed and not glued.
According to the official calendar, the simulation of the 2024 National Assessment takes place on February 5, 6 and 7, and the first exam, the Romanian Language and Literature, will take place on February 5. Student access to the classrooms is allowed until 8:30 a.m., and tests begin at 9:00 a.m. An interesting novelty is that, this year, the corner of the work is not closed and not glued, according to the official procedure.
The time available for correcting the subjects is two hours. The students will receive the subjects in the form of a booklet and at the end of the test they will hand in the sheets with the solutions and the booklet with the subjects.
What’s new from the 2024 National Assessment Simulation
Another significant aspect this year is the transition to digitized assessment. Students’ work will be scanned in class and later corrected on a digital platform. This process brings with it multiple advantages, including eliminating the risk of losing work and making proofreading more efficient. Teaching assistants will check each paper before it is scanned and ensure that all pages are complete and legible.
The way in which the papers will be corrected will also be different. According to the Ministry of Education guide, cited by edupedu.ro, each correctional teacher will be responsible for evaluating approximately 50 papers. These teachers will come from a different county than the candidates’ home county, thus ensuring objectivity in the evaluation. Also, each paper will be evaluated by two correctional teachers, these being selected from the Body of evaluating teachers, with priority for those who followed the Continuing Education Program.
The results of the simulation will be anonymized, using individual codes replacing the first and last names of the candidates. The results obtained will be analyzed at the level of each educational unit through individual discussions with students, class debates, meetings with parents and the teacher’s council, with the aim of adopting measures to improve school performance.
The grades obtained at the national simulations are not included in the catalog. By way of exception, at the student’s written request, the grades obtained at the national simulations can be included in the catalog
