Alfa Romeo has released a teaser of what could be a new variant of the Tonale SUV. The Italian manufacturer is preparing for “a new era”.

After presenting the Tributo Italiano special editions for the Tonale, Giulia and Stelvio, Alfa Romeo has released a mysterious teaser. The image released by the Italian manufacturer includes the taillights of the Tonale compact SUV, under the text “A new era begins.”

Alfa Romeo didn’t provide any other information with this mysterious post, only the description of the photo “Stay close… A new era begins with Alfa Romeo.” Thus, we can only guess what it is about in this context of a new era. However, the first electric model of the brand has not yet been presented, and those are the taillights of the Tonale, which we know that Alfa Romeo has no concrete plans for full electrification.

What can we expect from Alfa Romeo?

We know that a new Alfa Romeo SUV will be launched in the future and that it will be available in hybrid form or in the form of an all-electric vehicle, and the light signature shown in the latest teaser belongs to Tonale. Thus, we could be dealing with a new version of the Italian SUV. Perhaps we’ll see an even sportier iteration of the Italian compact SUV, more powerful than what we’ve seen so far. For now, the most powerful version of the SUV is represented by a plug-in hybrid that develops 280 HP.

According to Carscoops , Alfa Romeo CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato confirmed that the manufacturer is already working on a Quadrifoglio version for the Tonale, but added that they won’t approve it for production unless they get “the highest level of performance.”

Alfa Romeo has said it plans to become an all-electric car brand by 2027, when the current Giulia and Stelvio will be phased out along with the thermal versions of the Tonale. For now, only time will tell what Alfa Romeo’s intentions are with this new teaser.
