We were expecting the OnePlus 12 to launch sometime in early 2024, probably in the first month of the year, but the Oppo subsidiary has revealed that the official announcement will come sooner. The OnePlus 12 will be officially unveiled on December 4, 2023, and the date was not chosen by chance. Then it will be 10 years since the debut of this brand on the market, so this phone will be an important one for the company. It wouldn’t be out of the ordinary for OnePlus to also release a “special” edition on this occasion.

The announcement of the event that will take place on December 4 in Shenzhen, China also confirms that its host will be Pete Lau himself, founder and CEO of OnePlus. He became the image of the company and an important person also within Oppo, the company to which OnePlus belongs. Previously, the public face of OnePlus was Carl Pei, the company’s co-founder, who left a few years ago to set up Nothing in London.
Unofficial details about the OnePlus 12 leaked so far on the Internet suggest that we will be dealing with a smartphone from the “flagship” range, without too many compromises. The OnePlus 12 will be based on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, Qualcomm’s most powerful processor, and will retain much of the design of the OnePlus 11, which was launched in early January. We are talking about a glass construction and a similarly shaped camera module. The 6.82 LTPO3 screen will be built by BOE and will display a QHD+ resolution with a brightness of up to 2,600 nits.
It looks like the camera system will be very similar to the one on the OnePlus Open, based on a 48-megapixel main camera with a Sony LYTIA 808 sensor, a 3X optical zoom with a 64-megapixel sensor, and a 48-megapixel ultrawide camera. Most likely, the OnePlus 12 will initially be launched only in China, and will only hit stores in Europe in a few months.
