Former footballer Rică Neaga believes that Gigi Becali contributed a lot to the financial stability of football in Romania.
Currently mini soccer playerwhere he works for pleasure with several former teammates, the former attack point from Ghencea came to the studio ProSport Live and talked about the time he spent at Steaua. Adrian Neaga recalled the financial conditions in which he chose to leave FC Argeș, in 2001, to join the team coached, at that time, by Victor Pițurcă.
The former footballer also discussed about Gigi Becalibeing of the opinion that the businessman at the head of FCSB “kept the championship alive”.
Rîca Neaga revealed the stellar salary he received after the transfer from FC Argeș: “The star changes your life, but it’s the same now”
In 2001, Rică Neaga left FC Argeș for Steaua, where he received a salary four times higher than he earned in the court of Pitesti. No less than $60,000 a year, an impressive sum for those times, was then offered to the former striker – compared to just $15,000, as much as he received in the white and purple shirt.
“In 2001, when I came from FC Argeș, I had 60,000 dollars in my first year at Steaua. I say it’s good, at FC Argeș I had around 15,000 dollars a year, a huge difference. The star changes your life, but it’s the same now.
We must be aware that Gigi Becali, even if he makes mistakes, has kept this championship alive. Astra left after winning the championship, even if Gigi pumped money there, Unirea Urziceni as well, Farul, so I think Gigi Becali invested the most. I saw an analysis and he had put more than 80 million in transfers and I admire him a lot because he puts money into our championship.
He also has his faults, first of all, that he criticizes his people on TV. When I played, he was not so vehement. It was also at the beginning, but there was also Piți there…”, declared Rică Neaga, accordingly ProSport Live.
