September 24-25 National Folk Music Festival 2022, in Alba Iulia: Ducu Berzi, Emeric Imre and many others will perform in Piața Cetății. TIME SCHEDULE

Alba Iulia is once again the capital of folk music hosting at the end of this week a new edition of the National Folk Music Festival “Ziua de Maine”. For two days, on September 24 and 25, Romanian folk move with all their baggage of good music to Alba Iulia for the most important folk festival in Romania.

In addition to the luminaries of folk, special guests of this edition are representatives of the young generation of folk music, who will try to show that the “tomorrow” of Romanian folk is in good hands.

The National Folk Music Festival “Tomorrow” will take place on Saturday and Sunday, September 24 and 25, 2022, in Cetății Square in Alba Iulia. The recitals will take place every day, starting at 18:00, and entry to the performance area is free. On the first day, Saturday, Ducu Berzi, Emeric Imre and Jimi El Laco, Zoia Alecu, Paul Prisanda, the “Om bun” Group, Daria Boghean, Maria Matean will take the stage of the festival.

On Sunday, the festival will continue with recitals by Mircea Baniciu & Band, Mircea Vintilă, Vali Șerban and “Ziua de Mâine”, Felicia Pop, Florin Săsarman, Marinela Popa and the “Primavera” Group, Eliana Burde and Daria Romoșan. Thus, on both days, the stage is divided between big names of Romanian folk music and representatives of the young generation.

“Alba Iulia is once again the capital of Romanian folk music, and the most beloved performers of the genre are moving to the “Other Capital” with the whole baggage of good music. And this edition also takes place in the heart of the Citadel, in the open air, and we hope that this will allow the participation of a large audience. Special guests of this edition are the representatives of the young generation of folk music, who will have a double mission: to win the hearts of the public and to prove to the great artists on the stage that the future is in good hands.

Eliana Burde and Daria Romoșan, Maria Matean, Daria Boghean, the “Om bun” Group, Marinela Popa and the “Primavera” Group will try to show that the “tomorrow” of Romanian folk already exists. We are looking forward to the festival for all those who love folk music to enjoy evenings with good music”, said the manager of the “Augustin Bena” Alba Culture Center, Alexandru Pal.

On both days of the National Folk Music Festival “Ziua de Maine” the entrance to the performances is free, but seats are limited.

The “Ziua de Mâine” National Folk Music Festival is organized by the Alba County Council through the “Augustin Bena” Alba Culture Center, in partnership with the Alba Iulia City Hall. The festival is, like many other cultural events organized in Alba, a registered trademark of the Alba County Council.
