The sixth edition of the DokStation Music Documentary Film Festival started on Wednesday evening in Bucharest, at the Control Club, with the documentary about the Timisoara music scene after 1989 entitled “Swamp City” and a concert by the band Arc Gotic.

Two years ago, the members of the band from Timişoara Arc Gotic released a live video of the song “Night Train”, the song was part of footage taken during the concert that the local artists supported in the opening of the American band Soft Kill, organized by Trick Electrick in Reflektor Venue. The video benefits from visuals made by Florin Fâra and the sound from Consonance Studio, the mix being performed by Doctorul Sinteză. Arc Gotic is a group formed in 1992, in Timisoara. Their first album, entitled “Catechism”, was released in January 1994. The lyrics of the songs on this disc were influenced by the work of symbolist George Bacovia. After several line-up changes, Arc Gotic started working on a new album, entitled “Decadent”, which was recorded in the winter of 1997 and released in the summer of the following year. At the end of 2008, the artists released their third album, “Pavilion Marilla”.

The documentary “Swamp City”, made by Bogdan Pușlenghea from Timisoara (director, editor, additional camera) and Ovidiu Zimcea (director, editor, additional camera and sound design), was nominated this year for the Gopo Awards.
