The “Paul Păltănea” History Museum, in partnership with the “Ștefan cel Mare” Vaslui County Museum, the “VA Urechia” Galati County Library, the Galati County Service of the National Archives and the 300th Mechanized Infantry Battalion “St. Andrei” Galati, invites the citizens of Galati, Friday, May 10, 2024, starting at 12:00, at the opening of the temporary exhibition “Highlights of May 10, during the reign of Carol I of Romania”.

The exhibition, organized by museographer Dr. Maria-Magdalena Tuluș, reveals, through medals, photographs, weapons and period objects from the heritage of the Galati History Museum and that of its partners, the importance of May 10, a day with triple significance for the Romanian people: Carol I becomes Ruler of Romania (1866), the proclamation of Romanian Independence (1877), Romania becomes a kingdom (1881).

The organizers announce to the interested citizens of Galați that the event will take place at the “Paul Păltănea” History Museum Galați, Lapidarium Section, Mr. Iancu Fotea str., no. 2Bis (opposite the Greek Church).
