Four drivers faced criminal charges after being pulled over by the Alba policemen. It happened on the night of Saturday, April 27, 2024. Two of them were stopped by the police on the same street in Alba Iulia.

The cases were made public by IPJ Alba representatives, in the press bulletin of April 28, 2024.

Tested positive for psychoactive substances

On April 27, 2024, around 2:15 a.m., public order police officers from Alba Iulia, while acting on Vasile Goldiș Street in the municipality, stopped, for control, a car driven by a 35-year-old man, from Mogoș commune, Alba county.

After testing with the device provided, indications emerged regarding the possible presence of psychoactive substances. We note that this is not evidence in the criminal case, the person being taken to a medical facility, for the collection of biological samples, in order to accurately establish the consumption of prohibited substances.

Drunk driving in Şugag

On April 27, 2024, at around 03:10, the police officers from the Șugag Police Station, while acting on DN 67 C, within the range of the town of Șugag, stopped, for control, a car driven by a 23-year-old man , from the town of Săsciori, Alba county.

After testing the driver, with the breathalyzer, the value of 0.57 mg/l of pure alcohol in the exhaled air resulted, which is why he was taken to the hospital where blood samples were collected, in order to determine the blood alcohol level.

Caught drunk driving on a street in Alba Iulia. They didn’t even have a license

On April 27, 2024, at around 9:00 p.m., the traffic police from Alba Iulia detected a 56-year-old man from the municipality of Sibiu, while driving a car, on Orizontului Street in Alba Iulia, being under the influence of alcoholic beverages and without having a driving license for any category of motor vehicle.

After testing the driver, with the breathalyzer, the value of 0.51 mg/l of pure alcohol in the exhaled air resulted, which is why he was taken to the hospital where blood samples were collected, in order to determine the blood alcohol level.

Also, on April 27, 2024, around 9:40 p.m., traffic police from Alba Iulia detected a 34-year-old man from the municipality of Sebeș, while driving a car, on Orizontului street in Alba Iulia, being under the influence alcoholic beverages and without having a driving license for any category of motor vehicle.

After testing the driver, with the breathalyzer, the value of 0.88 mg/l of pure alcohol in the exhaled air resulted, which is why he was taken to the hospital where blood samples were collected, in order to establish the blood alcohol level.
