DRIM Daniel FMCG Distribution, a company founded by the Trandafir family from Pitesti that entered the portfolio of the Polish retailer Zabka last year, has leased warehouses with an area of ​​about 16,000 square meters, according to the information Economica.net.

It is one of the largest rental transactions in the logistics segment. The company rented two warehouses in the logistics park MLP Bucharest West, built by the Polish company MLP. Moreover, Zabka has leased warehouses in MLP projects and in Poland, the country of origin.

The first phase of the project has 22,000 sqm, delivered in 2021 and fully leased. Phase two, where he rented Zabka, has 16,000 square meters and had a delivery date of late 2023, early 2024.

The third phase of the MLP project will be 19,000 square meters, is permitted and will be built as there is demand. The fourth phase provides for the construction of another 38,000 square meters of warehouses.

MLP Bucharest West is a logistics park and intended for production activities that will have at complete completion of construction 95,000 sq m. The park is located in Chitila, just 15 km from the center of Bucharest, with direct access to the ring road and the A1 highway.

We remind you that the Polish group Zabka, with more than 10,000 stores in the mother country, will expand locally under the Froo brand.

According to some unofficial information of the Polish publication WP, the retailer would plan to open 200 convenience stores under the Froo brand, starting this year. The stores will initially operate in urban areas and the concept will be built around the idea of ​​proximity. The assortment will include around 2,000 SKUs and the outlets will focus heavily on impulse categories.

Zabka Group, established in 2021, was created with multidirectional development in mind. Over the course of more than two years, the company, initially known for its convenience stores, incorporated market entities into its structures and built new operating areas from scratch. As a result, in addition to its current sales in the convenience segment, it has built a leading position in the q-commerce and diet catering industries. At the end of 2023, the Group expanded beyond the Polish market by acquiring the majority stake in the distribution company Daniel DRIM Distributie FMCG in Romania.
