This weekend, approximately 750 police officers carried out large-scale actions, so that the Christian celebration of Palm Sunday would be a safe one.
Thus, the police acted to ensure the climate of order and public peace, the conduct of safe road traffic and the prevention of the consumption and trafficking of prohibited substances.
Between April 25-27 of this year, 136 actions were carried out in Constanța county, in which police officers from the public order, traffic, transport, criminal investigation structures, as well as fighters from the Special Actions Service, participated.
The actions were carried out in an integrated system with the gendarmes.
During the activities carried out, more than 1,600 people were identified through the eDac application and 980 vehicles were checked.
Following the detected irregularities, 667 contraventional sanctions were applied to Law 61/1991, for the sanctioning of acts of violation of some norms of social coexistence, public order and peace, to GEO 195/2002, regarding circulation on public roads, as well as for violating the provisions of other normative acts.
The value of the contraventional sanctions applied is approximately 303,000 lei. Also, 51 driving licenses were detained with a view to suspension, 33 registration certificates were withdrawn and 11 road traffic offenses were found.
Examples:
On April 27 this year, around 6:30 p.m., police officers from the Murfatlar City Police – Valu lui Traian Police Station identified a 27-year-old man who was driving a car, on DN 3, in Valu lui Traian commune .
He presented a driver’s license issued by the authorities of another country. Following the checks carried out, it was found that the man does not have the right to drive vehicles on the territory of Romania.
On April 27, around 5:35 p.m., police officers from the Negru Vodă City Police identified a man who was driving a car, on Islazului street in the village of Movila Verde, being under the influence of alcoholic beverages.
The man was tested with the breathalyzer, the result being 0.81 mg/l of pure alcohol in the exhaled air. Later, he was taken to a mendicant unit, for the collection of biological samples, in order to establish the blood alcohol level.
Criminal investigation files were drawn up in all cases.
