A breakdown in the network of pipes on the I South Highway in the area of ​​Vulcanei and Torentului streets led to the stoppage of hot water supply to approximately 100 blocks in Sector 1 of the Capital until May 1, 2024, at 11:30 p.m., reports the Bucharest Municipal Termoenergetica Company .

The employees of the municipal company start this night the technical closing, emptying and venting maneuvers and the welds to carry out the repair are to be made.

The condition of this portion of the primary network is extremely damaged, the I South Highway being 40 years old. In addition to the repair work that was carried out last year, through which a 150-meter section of pipe was replaced, specific interventions are needed, with the purpose of ensuring the operation of the heating system until the design stage of the the work intended to replace a section of approximately 3 kilometers of pipeline.

At the same time, due to the limitations in the heating agent supply, imposed by the works already underway on the alternative route – Magistrala II – the following areas will be deficiently supplied: Colentina, Fundeni, Teiul Doamnei, Lacul Tei, Doamna Ghica, Petricani, Opanez, Obor , Michael the Brave and Stephen the Great.
