What is the strength of PSD and PNL organizations in Satu Mare county. First battle won

If on the side of the Hungarian electorate things are clear, the UDMR being able to count on the overwhelming majority of votes from this electoral pool, on the side of the Romanian electorate things are much more complicated. And the battle is between PSD and PNL, given the latest poll results. Both nationally and locally.

The first battle was won by the Satu Mare County Organization of PSD, whose members managed to collect a record number of signatures of support in Satu Mare County. We are talking about no less than 20,976 signatures given by the villagers, collected in all corners of our county.

At the opposite pole, the active member of the Satu Mare County Organization of the PNL managed to collect a little more than half of what the social democrats from Satu Mare managed, namely 12,100 signatures of support submitted to the Satu Mare County Electoral Office.

The difference can be attributed to the way of organization and the strength of the local organizations, in particular, and the county organization, in general, when it comes to PSD. It is certain that this mobilizing power of the party can be vital in the electoral race and for the result of the vote on June 9, 2024.

Another indicator of the strength of the organizations can be the cohesion at the level of the county leadership. It is enough to see how the ranks of the PSD have closed, regardless of the internal political animosities that are inherent in any political formation. While many local leaders or former county leaders have left the PNL, diminishing much of the organization’s strength and influence.

This strength of the PSD was not overlooked even by some PNL mayors, who decided to join the PSD camp. The reason stated by them themselves: “The PSD county leadership demonstrated that it knows how to support its mayors”. A fact that – according to these mayors – ordinary voters also feel, who might choose the Romanian candidate with the best chances.
