A report of the Gorj Court of Accounts reveals a series of irregularities detected at Scoarța City Hall. The checks at the administrative-territorial unit were made following petitions and complaints, as well as materials appearing in the mass media. It seems that the employees received illegal holiday bonuses, as well as professional development courses.

Inspectors of the Gorj Court of Accounts discovered that illegal payments were made from the budget of the Scoarța town hall representing the value of accommodation services related to training courses attended by nine employees from the territorial administrative unit in 2022. It was determined that a damage was caused of approximately 31,250 lei by paying for the accommodation of the officials who attended the courses, during which the employees of the town hall also benefited from salary rights.

Moreover, at the end of 2022 it was decided by a decision of the City Council to give gifts to Scoarța town hall employees in the form of bonuses on the occasion of the Winter Holidays. Following the checks, it was concluded that these premiums were granted outside the legal framework in the payroll field.

The amount of the premium was 300 lei and a number of 66 people benefited from this money. No less than 19,800 lei were spent from the town hall’s budget for employees’ Christmas bonuses.

The inspectors of the Court of Accounts left as a measure to Scoarța town hall the recovery of the sums illegally paid for the accommodation of officials who participated in the training courses, but also the recovery of holiday bonuses until the end of September this year.
