“Within the coordinated operation, carried out at the national level, more than 230 home search warrants and 223 arrest warrants will be executed. The searches that will be carried out have the purpose of obtaining evidence about the illegal activity of organized crime groups and other persons involved in the commission of crimes associated with organized crime, in order to bring them to criminal responsibility, as well as to identify assets likely to be confiscated or intended for recovery damages”, transmitted DIICOT.

“In the year 2024, in which DIICOT marks 20 years of activity, the campaign started six years ago under the generic name “Ziua D”, reiterates the firm commitment of our institution in preventing and combating serious forms of crime. In this regard, we note that between January 1 and April 3, 2024, 544 indictments were drawn up and 103 plea agreements were concluded, with 1,186 defendants sent to court, of which 489 are in pre-trial detention.
