Thousands of private or public buildings, affected by the construction of the Arad-Oradea expressway. Expropriations have begun

The National Road Infrastructure Administration Company (CNAIR) recently issued the expropriation decision for the privately owned buildings that constitute the corridor for the Arad-Oradea expressway.

It is about several localities in the two counties. A total of 3,994 private or public buildings will be affected.

The announcement was made by the Timişoara Regional Directorate of Roads and Bridges, which states that the future high-speed highway is located within the territorial radius of the municipality of Arad, the towns of Chișinău-Criș, Livada, Macea, Şimand, Șofronea, Zerind, Zimandu Nou, in Arad county, and the localities of Avram Iancu, Cefa, Ciumeghiu, Gepiu, Mădăras, Nojorid, the municipalities of Oradea and Salonta, and the localities of Sânnicolau Român and Sântandrei, in Bihor county.

“The expropriation decision will be displayed at the headquarters of the Local Councils in the mentioned localities”, those from DRDP Timişoara also transmitted.

At the same time, DRDP Timișoara put out to auction, in parallel, two contracts for the cadastral documents necessary for the expropriation of this express road, with a deadline for submission of offers on May 9, 2024.

“After signing the contracts, the land will be dismantled and the analysis commissions will issue the minutes and the decisions establishing the compensations based on which the amounts will be paid”,
the representatives of the Timisoara Regional Directorate of Roads and Bridges sent.

Tender procedure

The three lots for the construction of the Arad – Oradea expressway are in the bidding procedure for execution, a procedure that was launched by the National Road Infrastructure Administration Company.

This, despite the fact that the partners, namely the Arad and Bihor County Councils and the Arad and Oradea City Halls, would have wanted the auctions to be organized at the local level. Everything, to reduce the dead times. But the central management, namely the Ministry of Transport, decided that CNAIR will organize the auction.

The future Arad-Oradea expressway will be built as a highway. The road will have a total length of 120.47 kilometers and includes the construction of 12 road junctions, four Maintenance and Coordination Centers and 86 bridges and passages.
