The demand for housing is still high and is above the level of the current real estate supply, which leads to a significant decrease in the chances of registering price drops in the next period, at least in the segment of new real estate.

Two- and three-bedroom apartments, located in urban areas, with contemporary design and modern finishes, are among the preferences of most visitors to real estate fairs. Sustainable features are also of interest, and the desire to know details about the developer is another criterion on the list of potential home buyers. These are the findings of the organizers of three of the largest such events in Bucharest.

“Families and individuals who prefer peace and want to escape the urban bustle generally look for houses in suburban or rural areas with generous spaces. Also, at the previous edition of TNI it was possible to observe a strong trend of development of complex real estate projects in which the emphasis is on energy efficiency and offers a wide range of facilities for customers”, says Cristina Bercea, organizer of the National Real Estate Fair (TNI) , which will take place this year in two editions: May 24-26 and September 20-22, at the Parliament Palace.

The year 2023 ended on an optimistic note on the real estate market, adds Cristina Bercea, with a high number of real estate transactions recorded compared to previous years. Most likely, the Romanians hastened the real estate purchase they had planned and placed the money in real estate until the end of last year, being pressured by the tax changes announced to come into force on January 1, 2024.
