Initially, the company announced that it was turning off the hot water in areas of three sectors of Bucharest – 2, 3 and 5 – but there are problems throughout the Capital.

The works on the heating pipes are planned to last five days, respectively between April 1-5, Termoenergetica announced the other day.

“Compania Municipală Termoenergetica București (CMTEB) SA announces the continuation of the modernization works of heating pipes by installing valves with a diameter of 500 mm, within Lot 1, Objective 3 of the Large Infrastructure Operational Program (POIM), on Highway 1 South, in area of Nicolae Grigorescu Boulevard in Sector 3 of the Capital.

The highway is over 60 years old, the year of commissioning being 1963.

This work, which will be carried out through a short-term intervention, is necessary and particularly important for the continuation of the entire open site under this objective, in which approximately 99% of the pipeline installation has been completed.

The decision was taken considering the weather forecast for the next period, which indicates rising temperatures.

The supply of thermal agent for hot water and heating will be suspended between March 26 and 28, 2024 for customers connected to the thermal points that supply buildings in the perimeter of Nicolae Grigorescu, Chişinău and Basarabia Boulevards, Iancului Road and Torentului and Cozia streets.

The work envisages the decommissioning of the existing valves and the portion of the pipe that connects them, as well as the execution of the reintegration works of the pipe section with a diameter of 400 mm.

After decommissioning the current mechanical devices, the new valves and related connecting pipes will be installed.

Also, an undercrossing will be made on Câmpia Libertății street, in the dormitory that connects to the heating network that feeds Nicolae Grigorescu Boulevard.

Also there, the existing pipeline will be decommissioned, metal supports and a pre-insulated pipeline with a length of approximately 100 linear meters will be installed.

Later, the existing temporary structure will also be decommissioned, and the 500 mm diameter pipe section will be re-integrated.

During Tuesday morning, the company’s teams will start, as an emergency, the technical maneuvers to close and empty the pipeline, then the venting. Subsequently, all the above-mentioned works will be carried out.

The dispatchers of the Bucharest Municipal Thermal Energy Company and the intervention teams work permanently to solve the problems that have arisen.

Customers have information available through pre-recorded messages on the phone number 031.9442 or other details on 0800.820.002, as well as through the Termoalert application”, informs Termoenergetica Bucharest.
