The Bucharest-Ilfov Emergency Situations Inspectorate warns of the fact that there will be a Code Orange for wind in Bucharest and Ilfov. Also, a Code Orange and Code Yellow warning for strong winds is in effect across the country, but storms are also possible.

“The National Meteorological Administration has issued a code orange meteorological warning for the Municipality of Bucharest and Ilfov County, on 04.02.2024, between 08.00 and 18.00.

In the mentioned interval, sustained intensification of the wind will be reported.

Warnings

We recommend that you observe the following preventive measures:

– avoid sheltering or passing near trees, poles, billboards, constructions with architectural elements that can be easily dislodged, as well as buildings under construction;

– stop the activities carried out in open ground or at height;

– close the windows of houses and other categories of buildings;

– do not touch poles or power lines that have fallen to the ground.

Code Yellow and Code Orange throughout the country

ANM specialists have issued Code Orange and Code Yellow for wind in almost the entire country, and in some counties we may experience storms.

A code orange warning was issued overnight. This applies to the counties of Bihor and Hunedoara and is valid on Tuesday, until 9:00 a.m. There will be strong intensification of the wind with speeds in general of 80…85 km/h, in places stormy, meteorologists announce.

A second warning comes into effect at 8am on Tuesday and will be in effect until 6pm.

The wind will have sustained intensifications in the counties of Satu Mare, Sălaj, Maramureș, Cluj, Alba, Bistrița-Năsăud, Suceava, Neamț and Botoșani, and especially in the afternoon in the counties of Teleorman, Giurgiu, Ilfov and the municipality of Bucharest, Călărași, Ialomița, Prahova, Buzău, Brăila and the continental area of ​​Constanța and Tulcea counties. There will be speeds in general of 80…85 km/h, and at high altitudes in mountainous areas, gusts will exceed 120 km/h.

These counties will be under a Code Orange warning, and the rest of the country will be under a Code Yellow warning.
