The Bucharest Symphony Orchestra is preparing for a national tour under the Vivaldi Rocks concept, which will take place starting on April 20 in Bucharest at Sala Radio and will end on July 1, with the concert at the National Opera in Cluj-Napoca. Founded by Cătălin Oprițoiu, the Bucharest Symphony Orchestra is made up of 50 instrument professionals who will surprise the audience with a series of Rock & Roll concerts.

The Bucharest Symphony Orchestra, the rebels of classical music, transformed Vivaldi’s “Seasons” into a rock monster, roaring with passion and madness. Forget that dusty image of classical music; Cătălin Oprițoiu, the master of the flute, will flood your mind with riffs that will make you wonder why the hell you haven’t listened to classical music before. And behind him, 50 masters of the instruments, who blow up sheet music, destroy bows and put the classics to shame.

Founded in 2007 by Cătălin Oprițoiu (Doctoral University Lecturer) together with Gabriel Gheorghe and Alexandru Duțulescu, the Bucharest Symphony Orchestra is a 100% private Romanian ensemble. He received the distinction of Cultural Ambassador of Romania after having performed on the world’s biggest stages alongside world-class conductors. Since 2007, the Bucharest Symphony Orchestra has proudly represented Romania on the biggest stages of the world alongside international artists.

“We want to be the ones who pave the way for a new era in music. An era in which any musical genre can be raised to another level through the mastery of classical artists. But also an era in which classical artists are motivated to reinvent themselves. To succeed to make classical instruments “sexy” again,” he said Cătălin Opriţoiusoloist and founder of OSB.

OSB’s goal is to interweave classical music with modern genres like ROCK, RAP or POP and give birth to a new era for symphonic music. A modern era where people can enjoy the perfect sound of classical instruments on rhythms that make them feel alive.

The Vivaldi Rocks tour must be perceived both as a revolutionary musical gesture, in which Vivaldi’s Seasons meet rock alongside world-class instrumentalists in a unique concert format, but also as an indigenous initiative to support true national cultural values, values who have the power to convey emotion through musical discipline and education.

If you want to take part in a show that will leave a historical mark and be with Romanians of international cultural caliber, don’t miss one of the Vivaldi Rocks concerts from April 20 to July 1. The shows will take place in 6 big cities in the country: Bucharest April 20, Constanța May 27, Arad June 28, Timișoara June 29, Oradea June 30, Cluj-Napoca July 1, and tickets can be purchased online.
