In the afternoon and evening of Monday, April 1 and during the night from Monday to Tuesday, April 2, the military firefighters from the Emergency Situations Inspectorate “Crisana” acted to extinguish 13 fires, which occurred on a total surface of more than 100 hectares, on vacant land, pastures and forests in Bihor county, 9 of them occurring between 19.00 and 05.05.

Thus, the fire crews of the Ștei Station located and extinguished five fires, which broke out on vacant land and pastures located in Chișcău (Pietroasa commune), Șuștiu (Lunca commune), Săud (Buntești commune), Brădet (Buntești commune) and Câmp, the surface affected by the burning of dry vegetation, being approximately 30 hectares.

The military firefighters from the Beiuș Fire Department and the firefighters from the Ștei Station, in cooperation with the Voluntary Service for Emergency Situations Roșia, acted to extinguish a fire that engulfed the dry vegetation on a meadow in Roșia, on an area of ​​approximately 50 hectares . Also, the crews of the Beiuș Section intervened to extinguish two forest fires within the radius of Tărcaita, Tărcaia and Roșia towns, events resulting in the burning of litter, on an area of ​​approximately 28 hectares.

The firefighters of the Valea lui Mihai Station intervened to extinguish a fire of dry vegetation, produced in the town of Tarcea.

The crews from the Alesd Fire Station acted to locate and extinguish four fires in a wooded pasture within the radius of Ponoară (Bratca commune) and on lands located in Tomnatic (Vadu Crișului commune), Munteni (Bulz commune) and Tileagd, events that burned about 2 hectares of wooded pasture and about 7.5 hectares of dry vegetation.

The mentioned fires, which affected lands, pastures and forests, on a total surface of about 117 hectares, were most likely caused by the use of open fire in open spaces without observing fire protection rules, in order to sanitize the land by burning waste or dry vegetation.
