The landscape of Sibiu, littered with tons of rubble and waste thrown on the side of the road. The authorized warehouse is a few minutes away

--

Dealul Dăii offers some of the most beautiful panoramas of Sibiu, views similar to those from Dealul Gușteriței. From here you can admire the outline of the historic buildings in the central area, but also the expansion of the neighborhoods from an eastern perspective. Also, Şelimbărul, Mohu, Pădurea Dumbrava and Șura Mică in the distance, all look very beautiful.

The landscape described above is polluted by a huge amount of construction waste, systematically thrown on the side of the county road that connects Sibiu with Agnita. Tons of construction debris is visible from the asphalt in several places commonly used by those who want to get rid of the debris.

The area is between Bavaria and Daia Nouă.

Brick scraps, tiles of all colors, burnt garbage, metal objects left over from burning, tiles, tiles, plastic objects, mortar, including dozens of raffia bags full of leftovers from apartment renovations are dumped here. The icing on the cake is dozens of used tires.

Here are some recent pictures below:

The situation is even worse if we take into account the fact that the inert waste deposit in Dealul Dăii, i.e. a specially designed place where the rubble can be taken for a fee, is a stone’s throw away, just a few minutes’ drive away. Below is the map from Google maps:

The Turnul Sfatului reporter also filmed trucks carrying waste and throwing it on the side of the county road.

All the images and photos presented above were sent to the officials of the Sibiu Environmental Guard.

According to the updated legislation in the field, those who are caught throwing construction waste into nature risk fines between 30,000 and 45,000 lei for individuals and between 50,000 and 70,000 lei for legal entities. Moreover, the legislation allows construction companies to reuse these materials in new projects, under certain conditions.

Turnul Sfatului newspaper also recently wrote about other areas near Sibiu where large amounts of garbage are thrown.

The rivers of Sibiu: There is no greater shame than what the residents of Resina do with Șteaza and Sevișul

Some of the most beautiful tourist areas of Sibiu lie buried under garbage. “What you see is only the tip of the iceberg, the situation is much worse”
