Bihor policemen discovered over 450 stolen perfumes in the trunk of a car during a traffic control. They belonged to a passenger in the car, a 45-year-old man from Turnu Măgurele, who intended to sell them, the representatives of the Bihor County Police Inspectorate reported on Tuesday morning.
“On April 1 this year, around 2:50 p.m., on DN 76, in the town of Tășad, Bihor county, the policemen of Section no. 5 Oradea Rural Police – Sântandrei and Husăsău de Tinca rural police stations detected a 45-year-old man in traffic, from Turnu Măgurele municipality, Teleorman county, a passenger in a car, while he had, in the trunk of the car, with a view to marketing, 464 boxes of perfumes, each 50 ml., each bearing signs similar to well-known brands, likely to be counterfeited”, the IPJ press release states.
All the perfumes were raised “in order to continue research and expertise, in order to establish the character of originality, by the brand owners”.
The statement did not specify which brands were imitating the “fake” perfumes.
The police officers of the Economic Crime Investigation Service are continuing the investigations under the aspect of committing the crime of “putting into circulation a product bearing an identical or similar trademark to a registered trademark for identical or similar products”, under the supervision of a prosecutor from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Oradea District Court .
