The complete modernization of the intersection with December 1, 1918 being almost ready, in the middle of this month, trams 6 will return to the established route, says the vice-mayor Ruben Laţcau.
Once the intersection is completed, those who had to change the route to get to work, school, as well as other travelers, will go again with trams 6a and 6b, says Ruben Laţcau.
“Due to completion in September, Vidrighin is the third major boulevard with modernized tram lines, two-lane carriageway, sidewalks, bicycle paths and green spaces, but also with new utility networks”. says Laţcau.
He says that he understands people’s dissatisfaction with the discomfort created by the works, but this is the result of years in which nothing was invested in the infrastructure of the tram lines.
“I understand the residents’ frustration with the current state of some tram lines, which can be uncomfortable and cause delays in public transport. Nothing was invested for years and years in the rehabilitation of the lines. On line 7, for example, there are sections that have not been intervened since before the Revolution of 1989. But Timișoara has recovered in terms of public transport infrastructure. Cetății, Bogdănești, Vidrighin are just the beginning”, Laţcau also said.
