An energy expert, Sorin Oprescu’s ex-procurement man, currently head of procurement at the University Hospital and a former chief of staff of the mayor convicted of corruption

According to G4Media.ro sources, the three are actually considered to be part of Cîrstoiu’s campaign staff.

Bogdan Hreapca he is currently an investment manager at the University Hospital, led by Cătălin Cîrstoiu from the position of manager.

Adrian Stanescu, the former chief of staff of Sorin Oprescu at the Capital City Hall, would be one of the informants of the former mayor of Bucharest, convicted for corruption. After the Capital City Hall, Stănescu would have been employed as an advisor to one of the deputies Romanian Intelligence Service. Later, he would have been fired from this position.

  UPDATE 19.30 Adrian Stanescu reported G4Media.ro that he is not part of the Cîrstoiu environmental campaign team. He claims that he was not Sorin Oprescu’s informant and that he was not fired from SRI, but would have left upon request.

Cătălin Deaconescu held the position of Prefect of the Capital between August 28, 2007 and June 18, 2008, and previously he was Deputy Prefect of the Capital. Between 2002-2005, he was a member of the public administration commission of PNL, from December 2003 to June 2005 he was president of TNL Bucharest, and between June and December 2005 he held the position of vice-president of PNL sector 3.

Another character seen in the environmental campaign team is Cătălin Cîrstoiu Bogdan Hreapca. He was one of Sorin Oprescu’s trusted people. He is currently, according to his Linkedin page, investment manager at the University Hospital since 2020. “I have seen him two or three times, but I don’t know what role he has in Cătălin Cîrstoiu’s campaign team”, a liberal told us . According to other sources, Hreapcă and Stănescu are fundraising for Cîrstoiu, while Deaconescu keeps in touch with the two parties, PNL and PSD.

According to a 2017 GSP investigation, Bogdan Hreapcă, “friend of Mircea Oprescu, son of the mayor”, was hired as head of Procurement. Hreapcă says that he went to the hospital manager (Adriana Nica – editor’s note) and “looked for a job”. He states that he knew her and knew that she was Oprescu’s life partner, but claims that this is not related to his employment. He worked in the Capital City Hall under the command of the former mayor as Head of Investments. According to the Linkedin account, Hreapcă was procurement director at the University Hospital (April 2017 – December 2017), sales director at Swarco First in Traffic Solutions (April 2016 – April 2017), General Manager for development at the Capital City Hall during his mandate Sorin Oprescu (August 2008 – December 2015).

Several sources have confirmed Hreapcă’s presence in doctor Cîrstoiu’s campaign team, but it is unclear what his role is. Contacted by G4Media.ro, Hreapcă said: “I am an employee of the Bucharest University Emergency Hospital with a work contract in the position of admin-investment director. I specify that I do not have the capacity of a civil servant. I have no position on the campaign team. As a private person, I support Mr. Cîrstoiu in this endeavor”.

Asked what role the Liberals have in the campaign team Catalin Deaconescu and Bogdan Hreapcathe doctor Cătălin Cîrstoiu he has not sent any response until the time of publication of this article.

Officially, PNL and PSD have announced as campaign coordinators in Bucharest on Sebastian Burduja and on Gabriela Firea after Cîrstoiu was announced as a common candidate. The two were preparing separate candidacies for PNL and PSD respectively.
