Repairs have been started on the streets of the municipality, after the damage to the water-sewer network during the winter

The teams of SC Euro Building SRL Brăila are currently working throughout the municipality, mainly in the central area, but also in several other neighborhoods, to repair the streets where they were executed, this winter, interventions to water and sewage networks.

“In the event of damage to the water supply and sewerage networks, CUP Dunărea Brăila has the obligation to intervene as an emergency to solve them. This requires, in most cases, the breaking of streets, sidewalks or green spaces. After carrying out the repairs, i.e. after filling the pits with compacted ballast, the work is handed over to the winning company of the tender, which has the obligation to restore the affected street area”the representatives of the Public Utilities Company (CUP) Dunărea Brăila stated in a press release.

CUP Dunărea Brăila put out to auction, in 2023, a contract for the execution of street restoration works, for all areas where the company performs intervention works on water and sewage networks. Following the organized auction, the winner was designated SC Euro Building SRL, and the contract is valid for 24 months. The estimated total value of the contract is 5,118,038.37 lei, excluding VAT, and payment is made on the asphalt surface poured by the contractor.

The contract concluded by the Dunărea Brăila Public Utilities Company (CUP) with SC Euro Building SRL was signed in October 2023, so it is ongoing.

According to the water and sewer company, in the period from October to December 2023, within the above-mentioned contract, the following repair works were executed by SC Euro Building SRL: 112 roadway restoration works, 16 pavement restoration works and two dormer cover restoration. Also, during this period, five other repair works (asphalt restoration) were executed in Brăila county.

After the cold season, with the warming of the weather, the work teams of Euro Building went out into the field again. “In the next period, as a result of the intervention works on the water and sewage networks, carried out by CUP Dunărea Brăila during the winter period, SC Euro Building SRL will carry out 177 street restoration works in the following areas : 97 in the central area, 19 in the area of ​​the Vidin – Brăilita neighborhoods, 57 in the Chercea – Islaz area and four in the Lacu Dulce area”the cited source also specified.
