--

The airport in Cluj was the second busiest in February after the one in the capital, according to data from the Airport Association.

We are talking about over 200,000 passengers processed in February in Cluj, a figure exceeded – by a long distance – by Bucharest airport, with almost a million passengers processed. In total, almost 1.6 million passengers were registered at Romanian airports in February of this year, of which 92% traveled on external routes. The total number of passengers in February 2024 exceeded by almost 9% the figures recorded by Romanian airports before the pandemic, in February 2019, and was almost five percent higher than the total number of passengers processed at Romanian airports in February last year.

In the same period, 16,242 aircraft movements – landings and takeoffs – were recorded at Romanian airports, and 3,376 tons of cargo were transported.
