Satu Mare Court admitted the recognition agreement and sentenced a person to 1 year and 10 months in prison with the suspension of the execution of the sentence under supervision for committing the crime of bribery.
It also ordered that the defendant fulfill the obligation to attend a social reintegration program and perform a period of 60 days of unpaid work for the benefit of the community.
In fact, on the night of 05-06.10.2023, the defendant was stopped in traffic by a crew from IPJ Satu Mare – Traffic Police Office, as he was driving in the opposite direction on a street within the radius of Satu Mare municipality.
As a result of this fact and in order for the police officers not to apply the sanction of suspension of the right to drive for a period of 60 days and a fine of 870 lei, the defendant offered them the sum of 100 euros.
The discussions that took place in the above-mentioned context were audio-video recorded by the bodycam devices in the possession of the policemen.
Police officers within IPJ Satu Mare – Traffic Police Office they refused sums of money offered by the defendant and immediately reported the act of corruption to the workers within General Anticorruption Directorate – Satu Mare County Anticorruption Service.
During the investigations, the prosecutor within The Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Satu Mare Court benefited from the support of judicial police workers within Satu Mare County Anticorruption Service.
