The searches took place at the liberal leader’s relatives and in an 800 square meter apartment in the luxury Stejarii district, for which the head CJ Prahova would pay 6,000 euros in monthly rent, writes G4Media.
The president of the Prahova County Council (CJ), Iulian Dumitrescu, was targeted by DNA prosecutors’ searches. The liberal leader confirmed the action of the investigators and said that he will collaborate with them and will not hide behind any political or administrative position.
“Following the public speculations, I want to make the following clarifications: I am providing the prosecutors with all the information and data they need. I am collaborating with the state institutions to clarify this situation as quickly as possible. I will not hide behind any political or administrative position. When this phase of the investigation is completed, I will communicate transparently to the public about what happened. I have nothing to hide”, Dumitrescu wrote on his Facebook page.

Luxury and opulence
G4Media researched the liberal leader’s wealth declarations and found a gross inconsistency between those declared and the life displayed by the head of CJ Prahova.
Thus, “Iulian Dumitrescu (PNL), in the declaration of wealth published in June 2023, has two 158 sqm apartments bought together with his wife in 2008 and a 45 sqm apartment that belongs only to his wife (since 2005).
However, political sources told G4Media that the liberal lived in a luxury apartment of 800 square meters in the Stejarii district, which belongs to the footballer Cristian Chivu and his wife. DNA searched this apartment on Thursday, and G4Media sources claim that the politician was paying a monthly rent of 6,000 euros for this residence”.
According to the 2021 wealth declaration, Dumitrescu sold two plots of land to Bucegi Invest SA in 2020, one outside the village in the commune of Razvad, for 775,200 lei (16,322 sqm, Dâmbovița) and one inside the town in Berceni, on the Ring Road, for 969,000 lei ( 5000 sqm, Ilfov).
In the 2023 statement, boss CJ Prahova noted that he owns a Land Rover manufactured in 2014, but G4Media showed exclusive images of a Lamborghini Urus and a Bentley, the luxury cars driven by Iulian Dumitrescu and his family, which do not appear in the wealth statement .
G4Media sources claim that Iulian Dumitrescu and his family spent almost 3 million lei in a year and a half in luxury shops and destinations: Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Maldives Islands, Capri Island, Mykonos, Courchevel, Nice.
