Rents have exploded year after year. Compared to the beginning of 2023, in January 2024 costs increased by 21% nationally. This is shown by the data of a well-known real estate platform.

In Bucharest, as expected, the highest price increases were recorded. We are talking about an average increase of 24% compared to January 2023. Thus, now, for a three-room apartment, the average price reaches almost 800 euros per month, while for a two-room apartment the price reaches over 550 of euros, and for a studio the cost exceeds 300 euros every month.

Everything depends, however, on the sector in which we want to rent a home. Apartments for rent in Sector 1 recorded the highest price increase compared to last year (+24%), followed by housing in Sectors 2 (+23%) and 5 (+21%).

Rent increases were also recorded in other large cities in Romania

Rent increases were also recorded in other large cities in Romania. And we see what is happening from this point of view in Cluj-Napoca. And in Brașov, in January 2024, the average rental price of a three-room apartment was 600 euros, while two-room apartments were rented for 500 euros, and studios for 300 euros.

The biggest increase from one year to another, in the category of average rental prices, was registered in Sibiu, where studio apartments increased by 30% and reached 300 euros. Two-room apartments rent for almost 400 euros, and three-room apartments cost 550 euros.
